Highland Dancing: Tradition in Motion

Highland dancing brings Scottish music, history and athleticism together in one remarkable tradition. From the quick footwork of the Highland Fling to the careful steps of the Sword Dance, dancers need strength, precision, musicality and plenty of stamina. The dances may be rooted in Scotland’s past, but they continue to grow through competitions, performances and dance schools around the world. Every leap, turn and pointed toe helps keep a much-loved part of Scottish culture moving forward.
