HOLLAND WATERFRONT CELTIC FESTIVAL & HIGHLAND GAMES

The Holland Waterfront Celtic Festival & Highland Games is an annual celebration of Irish, Scottish, Welsh, and Celtic heritage held at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds in Holland, Michigan. The weekend features traditional Highland athletic competitions, live Celtic bands, a massive Irish pub tent, dancing, a Scottish clan village, and family-friendly attractions. Event highlights include: Highland Games: Over 50 athletes compete in traditional heavy athletics, including caber tossing, sheaf tossing, and weight throwing. Music & Dance: The festival features 15 bands playing Celtic music across multiple stages, alongside performances from regional Irish and Scottish dance schools. Cultural Exhibits: Visitors can wander through the Scottish Clan village to trace family history, watch border collies herd sheep, and meet iconic Scottish Highland cows ("Coos"). Food & Drink: An on-site Irish pub serves Guinness, Irish and Scottish whiskies, with vendors selling traditional fare like shepherd's pie and fish & chips.
